Trust the Process.

One of the keys to being successful in the trainings I conduct is to TRUST THE PROCESS. Leadership from the Heart and Reasons or Results are very difficult trainings (that is why they work and are valuable experiences for the participants) and not everyone completes. Many time the participants do not complete is because they truly do not TRUST THE PROCESS. They are more concerned about what is or is not going to happen than what they can control. If you get down to the bones of what TRUST THE PROCESS is you will see that it is really about trusting yourself that you are going to give your best and you have the talent to take on the challenges that are before you. When you are confident in yourself you are able to trust others. When you are not able to trust yourself, you will really stress yourself because you will need to be a control freak, because you will not trust anybody or anything around you.

It is one of the great lessons from my workshops.

Have a pleasent evening.

I KNOW THAT

My Dad likes to teach lessons. He is successful, has been successful, has failed and therefore he has knowledge to share. Sometimes he shares the same lesson as when I last saw him. Sometimes he shares a lesson that I have heard from another source. No matter what the lesson is I must be open to it. My biggest problem is a block to learning. I fight and often lose to the three most dangerous words in the human language when it comes to learning.

I KNOW THAT.

He talks and basically I have the thought of "I know that." I must bury this thought and keep an open mind. When "I KNOW THAT" I am cutting off all learning, all access to the gold nuggets he is sharing. There are great ideas that he has shared with me that I have not heard completely because I believe I already know what needs to be done. I perfect example is this blog. My Dad has shared with me that I must get into this medium, my friend and colleague Lisa has shared that we as a business must get into web based learning, I have lost valuable time because "I KNOW THAT". Meaning there was no basis for what they were talking about because I know what needs to be done and I instantly shut down some great points both were making.

I recommend to all that you put ENERGY into having an open mind. A great tip for success is to listen to people with the intent to understand and shelve the little voice that may be telling you that "I KNOW THAT".

Energy X Execution at work. Example 1 T.O.

Terrell Owens (T.O.) is one of the top Wide Receivers in the NFL and a potential hall of famer. I use the word "potential" for the same reason that T.O. is the subject of this blog. Sports are easy for me to show the power of Energy X Execution= Results, it is always in the news and statistics are easy to come by.

T.O. has had 8 seasons of 10 touchdowns or more in the last 10 seasons. He is beast of a man that is fast and requires a lot of attention by the defense. Those of you who are not into sports all you need to know is that he is really good.
http://www.nfl.com/players/terrellowens/profile?id=OWE755129

Above are his career stats from the National Football League.

A guy like this you would think would be on one team for most of his career. All the greats have stayed on one team for a majority of their career. Terrell was just released by the Dallas Cowboys and picked up by his 4th team, the Buffalo Bills. He was not released or signed by his old teams because of his skills on the field he keeps moving to teams because his ENERGY is terrible. I would say he is an 8 in EXECUTION. Strong, Fast, Skilled. He is a strong 8. His ENERGY is a 4. He consistently berates coaches and quarterbacks. He airs team issues in the media and is very selfish, complaining openly about not getting the ball enough EVEN WHEN THE TEAM IS WINNING. 8x4 is 32. If the top of line is 100 it is no wonder he moves around like he is a average/below average player. He has never won a Superbowl, MVP and must likely will never win these top honors. There is talk he may not even make the hall of fame because of the ENERGY he has brought to the league.

Have a great night!

ENERGY IS EVERYTHING!!!

Energy is not really everything. Yet, it is a major component to my life's work. In my opinion my company the LifeSkills Center for Business Leadership has created the most outstanding personal development trainings in the WORLD!!! The reason it is OUTSTANDING is that the central theme, the center of where we start when developing a workshop is this simple equation.

Execution X Energy = Results/Rewards.

The scale is based on 100 and 100 equals the top. You are the best of the best. You are the one that is chosen, you don't have to worry as much about a recession or layoffs because people will still be willing to pay for your services because of the quality. You become a hero and get perks only the best of the best recieve.

To get to that kind of level many people feel that they must be really outstanding at executing their job or career. This is true, yet, many people who are just highly skilled do not ascend to be at the top. The secret ingredient is ENERGY!

Energy is your attitude, your commitment to customer/client service, your passion for the work. This is the ingredient that is not taught in schools or in corporate trainings.

This blog will be dedicated to thoughts and ideas to help people, including myself, be the best that they/I can be. We will be exploring Execution X Energy= Results/ Rewards and the ideas and theories around it. I will use current events to help me disprove and prove this theory. My goal is always to champion "what works". I believe this formula works. I look forward to exploring it further. I hope you enjoy it too.

Have a great night.
